Founded in 1886, The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Manitoba (ICAM) is a self-regulatory professional body incorporated under The Chartered Accountants Act to serve the best interests of the public through the development and enforcement of high standards of qualification and practice.
ICAM is the largest professional accounting body in Manitoba and provides leadership to more than 2,800 CAs and 400 students. The Institute also offers an extensive program of professional development for its members and students, as well as practice advisory services for practitioners.
The Institute is governed by a Council, headed by an elected president, who serves a one-year term. The 17 member Council, which includes two public representatives, is supported by ICAM’s Chief Executive Officer and a competent staff of ten others.
ICAM works in partnership with other provincial and territorial institutes/order and the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants (CICA) to support national standards and programs. Together they represent a membership of over 70,000 professional accountants in Canada and Bermuda.
