AcSB confirms 2011 IFRS transition date

On February 13, 2008 the Canadian Accounting Standards Board confirmed 2011 as the official changeover date for publicly listed Canadian companies to start using International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).

The transition will affect interim and annual financial statements relating to years beginning on or after January 1, 2011 and will significantly impact financial reporting for all publicly accountable enterprises, including Canada's 4,500 publicly listed companies.

Canada's CAs have a comprehensive, online roster of IFRS materials, seminars, self-study options and other tools to assist companies through the transition process. Go to CICA's IFRS website now.
