The proposed amendments to the Bylaws, Rules of Professional Conduct and Council Interpretations of the Rules for 2012 will be voted on at the Annual General Meeting on June 14, 2012.
FIRST BYLAW OF 2012
Explanatory Note:
Amendments to Rule of Professional Conduct 303, its related Council Interpretation and Council Interpretation 218 have been proposed to clarify that members are normally expected to provide electronic copies of client information to a successor accountant when it is available in such a format and when the provision of such electronic information does not infringe software or similar copyrights. The amendments to Council Interpretation 218 include guidance with respect to the segregation of client information from the member’s proprietary information in order to facilitate the transfer of client information.
